An undiscovered gem on the Mediterranean Coast, Libya is a fascinating destination and one that's little visited from the UK. The highlight for most visitors are the magnificent Roman ruins of Leptis Magna, regarded as the best Roman site in the Mediterranean, with its magnificent architecture on a grand scale. However, there's a great deal more of interest too, including the desert city of Ghadames, the primary city of Tripoli and numerous Roman remains, berber castles and desert landscapes. |
