Day 1 Depart Heathrow

Day 2 Lima
When you arrive in Lima, you’ll transfer to your hotel where you'll have time to explore the Miraflores area.

Day 3 Lima
On your half day sightseeing tour you’ll see the key sites including the Historical Centre, Plaza San Martin, Plaza Mayor, the Government Palace, City Hall and the Cathedral. You’ll pass through the residential districts and El Olivar Park then stop at Larco Herrera Museum which gives you an overview of Peru's ancient past.

Day 4 Lima to Cusco to Yucay
When your morning flight lands in Cusco, you’ll transfer to the Sacred Valley, visiting Awanacancha en route; an Andean textile centre which preserves the traditions of Incan textile art. Once you’ve checked in to your hotel in the village of Yucay, you’ll have some free time to walk in the valley.

Day 5 Yucay
You’ll embark on a full day tour today, which begins at the Pisac archaeological complex to see the remains of Incan dwellings, temples, and terracing. You’ll get a taste of local life at the colourful Pisac markets then, after lunch at a local countryside restaurant, you’ll visit the Incan fortress and citadel of Ollantaytambo, built to guard the entrance to the valley.

Day 6 Yucay to Machu Picchu
This morning you’ll board the Vistadome train for an amazing journey through Andean scenery to Aguas Calientes, and the famous Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu. The legendary ‘Lost City’ is without a doubt one of the world’s most impressive archaeological sites and sits in a tropical mountain forest of extraordinary beauty. You’ll tour the Main Plaza, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Sun Dial, the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows and various burial grounds. A buffet lunch will be served at the Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge and you’ll have time to wander this captivating site after the crowds have dispersed, before returning to Aguas Calientes.

Day 7 Machu Picchu to Cusco
You have a free morning, but we recommend you get up early to watch the beautiful sunrise. You can stroll around Aguas Calientes and visit its Hot Springs, or revisit the Citadel of Machu Picchu independently. The more adventurous might like to book a trip to climb Huayna Picchu, a high peak where you can really appreciate the immensity of Machu Picchu. This afternoon you’ll take the train back to Cusco.

Day 8 Cusco
Cusco has the finest examples of Incan history and architecture, which you’ll discover on a half day tour of the city, including the Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral, the Koricancha Temple and a visit to the surrounding ruins of the Kenko amphitheatre, Tambomachay, Puca Pucara and the Sacsayhuaman Fortress.

This morning, you’ll transfer to Cusco Airport to board your flight to London, via Lima and Madrid
