DAY
1
Board your President cruiser in the evening, settle in and meet
your fellow guests for the next four days.
DAY 2
Set sail early morning from Yichang and pass through the Xiling
Gorge, the largest of the Three Gorges. Arrive at the Three Gorges
Dam for an informative inspection of the main site. Return to your
cruiser for a four hour navigation of the Dam itself. Enjoy a relaxing
evening of entertainment on board, including the Captain’s
Welcome Party.
DAY 3
A full day sailing through the Wu Gorge, widely regarded as the
most scenic stretch of the Yangtze. Enjoy an excursion to the Shennong
Lesser Gorges. Originating from the southern stretches of the Shennongjia
Nature Reserve, this almost 40 miles long stream twists and turns
from north to south through deep gorges with sheer cliffs and crystal
waters, before finally merging with the Yangtze at the entrance
of the Wu Gorge. Return to your cruiser and make your passage through
the spectacular precipices of the Qutang Gorge. Enjoy a relaxing
evening of entertainment on board.
DAY 4
After breakfast and optional morning exercises, join a shore excursion
to the ‘Pearl of the Yangtze’, the 12 storey high Shibaozhai.
A renowned example of Chinese architecture, the red wood pavilion
has been painstakingly built on the slopes of a 650 feet high sheer
rock face on the northern banks of the Yangtze. Return to your President
cruiser and in the evening enjoy a delicious Farewell Dinner and
perhaps a cocktail or two in the piano bar.
DAY 5
Arrive early morning in Chongqing and after breakfast disembark,
relaxed, refreshed and ready for your onward journey in this fascinating
country.
