ITINERARY
DAY 1 - DEPART
South African Airways overnight flight from Heathrow to Johannesburg, arriving the next morning.
DAY 2 - LIVINGSTONE
On arrival connect with your South African Airways flight to Livingstone airport, arriving mid-morning, where you will be met and transferred approx. 15 minutes to the Zambezi Sun hotel on the banks of the Zambezi, just upstream from Victoria Falls. Considered one of the seven natural wonders, and the largest falling sheet of water in the world, Victoria Falls is known locally as Mosi oa Tunya: the smoke that thunders. Surrounded by national park, postcard-perfect photo opportunities are endless. Enjoy three nights here in total comfort and perhaps sample some of the many activities available locally including fishing, river cruises and game drives (all payable locally). (breakfast included)
DAY 5 - CHOBE NATIONAL PARK
Transfer by road to Kasane Airport in northeastern Botswana where you will be met by a vehicle from Muchenje Safari Lodge for the 40 minute transfer to the lodge. Situated on the western side of the Chobe National Park and the only lodge in the vicinity, it offers prolific game experiences and stunning panoramic views. Muchenje features ten thatched chalets, all with en suite facilities and balconies. The main buildings house a bar, lounge, lookout platform, dining area and library. The feature swimming pool is built into natural rock formations and provides welcome relief during the heat of the day. Spend three nights here, with included activities ranging from game viewing by 4x4 vehicle in the National Park to motorboat on the Chobe River, or guided walking in the Forest Reserve. (breakfast, lunch and dinner included)
DAY 8 - OKAVANGO DELTA
After breakfast transfer back to Kasane airport where you board your light aircraft flight (Safari Air or similar) over the magnificent and stunning scenery of the world’s largest inland delta, the Okavango, arriving at Camp Okavango for three nights. Set in the heart of the permanent delta, which is one of the last truly unspoilt wildlife areas in Africa and filled by distant rains in the Angolan highlands that take up to six months to reach the delta. Included game and bird viewing here is waterborne either by traditional mokoro canoe or motorboat, and guided walking on nearby islands is also offered. ‘Camp O’ is home to 12 luxurious tents featuring tea and coffee making facilities, en suite bathroom and deck, with a dining room, expansive patio, bar, lounge, library, bird viewing hide, hammocks, sun deck and plunge pool in the main area. (breakfast, lunch and dinner included)
DAY 11 - RETURN
Morning at leisure until your light aircraft flight to Maun airport where you fly Air Botswana to Johannesburg to connect with your South African Airways overnight flight to Heathrow, arriving the following morning. (breakfast included)
